Fishing Expedition Amazonia Series 02
Known to the indigenous Makushi Indians as ‘Land of Many Waters’, Guyana is every angler’s paradise. Its unspoilt rainforests are home to an abundance of wildlife and its pristine rivers teem with exotic fish.
Deep within the interior of this little known country, Steve and his expedition team explore two remote stretches of river - the mysterious Rumpununi and majestic Essequibo.
Venturing countless miles along winding jungle rivers, Steve’s goal is to track down and catch the ultimate piscatorial predators - some revered; some feared by the local tribes. Living alongside these native Amerindian tribal folk Steve learns much about their hunter-gatherer lifestyles, even joining them on hunting forays to help feed the expedition camp.
We share the camaraderie of Steve and his fellow adventurers as they face up to the challenges of jungle exploration, pushing further and further into the unknown. After many setbacks and mishaps, Steve is eventually rewarded with the most jaw-dropping of catches. From the sinister Amazonian wolf fish to the voracious black piranha, all are guaranteed to impress!
Steve manages to achieve a lifetime goal with the capture of a giant air-breathing arapaima, his biggest ever freshwater fish to date and the undisputed catch of a lifetime. In this colourful jungle adventure no one day is the same and a surprise lurks around every corner.
